Senior Mental Health and Addiction

Program Philosophy: Our specialized treatment program is designed to diagnose and treat the complex mental health and substance abuse issues faced by aging adults. We are a state-of-the-art mental health facility, with a nurturing, results-driven approach. We focus on helping seniors maintain their quality of life by stabilizing their mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing.

Persons Served: Aging adults and their loved ones often experience unique and challenging concerns, including safety, physical decline, loss of independence, medication reactions, cognitive decline, and multiple personal losses. These issues require special attention and are often contributing factors to acute depression and other serious mental health issues.

The keys to our success include a highly structured treatment program, compassionate and dedicated staff, personalized care, and a group of highly experienced medical professionals.

Program Model: We focus on the physical and mental changes of aging adults and the specific needs that accompany this change. Our individualized treatment plans offer aging adults a way to improve their overall mental health and well-being by allowing them to overcome, or manage more effectively, such issues as depression, anxiety, and alcoholism. Each patient is under the care of a psychiatrist and/or nurse practitioner who directs a treatment team of registered nurses, social workers, activity therapists, psychologists, occupational therapists, and mental health workers. The treatment team is trained to identify the special emotional, behavioral, and physical health needs of seniors.

Treatment includes:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Thorough assessment and diagnosis
  • Medication management
  • Education of patient, family and caregivers
  • Therapeutic recreation and wellness activities
  • Nursing care
  • Individual, group and family therapies
